The amazing 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa.

The close at hand future is bright and clear at this art museum

The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is located in the center of Kanazawa. The museum with its circular, glass-covered exterior attracts not only art lovers but tourists, families, and many other people with its beauty. The museum was designed with the concept of not simply being a hall for art exhibitions, but also a place for people to relax. Because of its many free areas, you will see people relaxing on benches, eating at the museum’s stylish restaurant, and young people who look like art students surveying the architecture. The museum strives to not be seen as just a place to appreciate art but additionally as a place to give the sensation of freshness.

The museum was designed by Japanese architects, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, of the architectural office SANAA. They also designed the Dior Omotesando Store (Tokyo) and the Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum Of Art. The use of both natural and artificial light creates a distinct contrast between interior and exterior in their designs. All of SANAA’s design share a near future aesthetic as well. The duo won the Golden Lion in 2004 for the most significant work in the Ninth International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
